PortaBanda is a handpan duo formed of acclaimed artists Rosie Bergonzi and Amy Naylor. Working together since 2022, they released their debut EP in 2023 and are embarking on a world tour in 2024. Between them, the duo have 20+ years of shared teaching and performing experience and with Rosie's grounding in classical percussion, and Amy's upbringing in the British folk scene, they bring a unique and varied sound to the world of handpan. Their show consists of singalong songs exploring climate + social justice, peppered with feel-good instrumentals, catchy grooves, and moving stories. Amy and Rosie's on stage chemistry is heart-warming, and with two of the widest smiles on the handpan scene, their music will leave you feeling inspired.
David Kuckhermann is a Grammy nominated and world renowned handpan player and percussionist based in Berlin, Germany. His musical teaching methods are based on more than 20+ years of playing and professional teaching experience. He has taught more than 10,000 students from all around the world as the founder of online instrument education schools: Handpan Dojo and World Percussion Academy. David has performed his solo repertoire in famous concert halls including the Royal Albert Hall in London England, the Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley in California and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. He currently tours the world as freelancer, and soloist and teaches masterclasses for handpan players and percussionists.
Nadishana - Somos is a world music duo with the unique concept, exploring possibilities of ethnic woodwinds and metal melodic percussion in an unusual and innovative way, combining flutes and handpans with self constructed percussion set and electronics. The duo concert is an immersion into the magical sound of ancient and modern overtone instruments (kalyuka, khomus, kaval, handpans) in a fresh and surprising context of uncommon progressions and odd rhythms. Archer & Tripp are a true love story through the love of the newly created instrument (2000), handpan. Having met at the worlds first handpan gathering HangoutUK in 2014, they have since traveled the world, sharing their love for and through music. Both multi-instrumentalists Samantha Archer (UK) and Jaron Tripp (GER) bring unique abilities which, in their mixture, guarantee an excitingly unusual, profound musical experience at the pulse of our era.
Samantha's classical training during her child and teenage years in piano, clarinet and vocals allowed her distinctive and instinctive sense for melody to flower into a skill for both improvisation and composition.
Jaron's development as a musician is driven by the grounding power of rhythm. When starting to play the Hang in early 2006, the freedom of no tradition matched perfectly with his approach to music. Since studying complex rhythmical structures in a meditative way, whilst becoming a Taketina teacher (from 2010 – 2012), Jaron's deep understanding of rhythm and pulse uniquely blends with Samantha's enchanting melodic tone.
Kirill Osherov is a multi-percussionist specializing in Persian classical drum - tombak, handpan and framedrums, he also composer and producer in world music multicultural band called «Treugolny Son» (Triangular Dream). Kirill is a permanent resident of the music festival-academy - "Labyrinth" on the island of Crete, under the direction of Ross Daly. Kirill is a student of the outstanding masters of modernity - Pedram Khavarzamini and Zohar Fresco (frame drums). Also, one of Kirill's advantages is his outstanding level playing handpan. Kirill is actively developing handpan music worldwide and is well known all over the world for his unique technique of playing this instrument.
Alexander Mercks was always dreaming of living a free life that allows him to do what he loves. After the handpan came into his life in summer 2014, he began his musical journey and is now living his dream. In his music he shows himself and shares his emotions with his surroundings. It's like a dash of colors that touches the listeners and paints beautiful landscapes of sound into their minds. And thus stays a warm afterglow that the listener takes home and further on.
'Four Birds' is a hamburg-based bass music project by Louis L. combining organic recordings of various percussive instruments with carefully from-scratch-designed synths. Lea Valentina is a musician and handpan teacher from Munich, Germany. Her music is a colorful potpourri of tender handpan sounds, percussive drumming and guitar playing mixed with poetry and lyrics that invite to sing along. In her concerts Lea welcomes the whole spectrum of being human, traveling from inner silence, softness and vulnerability to the most powerful version of ourselves, standing strong, with roots deep down and embracing the transformative power of a fully open heart.
Besides playing solo, Lea is also touring together with Marketa Drozdkova with their band project MEA Duo. In 2024 Lea will release her solo-album 'Ocean of possibilities'. Wherever she goes she aims to connect through music and sit together by the fire for a drumming circle.
Mandakini is a Berlin based musician that strives to create sound carpets, blending 3 essential aspects of Music that the word Organic very well defines: Rhythm, Dynamic and Groove. Having as background more then 25 years of percussion experience, his explorations and compositions dive deeply into rhythmic sound journeys, making use of the energies presented in the moment. Since the Handpan came into his path in 2012, the combination of his percussive approach with harmonic elements and textures allowed him a new form of expression through Music.

The Emajamaa Trio are Tabea Hörsch on cello, Fernando Lyra on handpan, Rav vast and sansula, and Christian Maurer on percussion. New technical and sonic possibilities are explored in this unusual line-up and combined with influences from Scandinavian jazz, minimal music, classical music and folk to create a language all their own. In their original compositions, the sounds of cello, handpan and percussion interweave to create a moving performance that allows the audience to travel through inner landscapes; sometimes as being in a dream and at other times swaying in the dance floor.

Arthur H., as President of the Jury, awarded her the Andrée Chedid prize for her musical adaptation of the poem “Multiple” (10th edition, Printemps des Poètes) — and invited the young “artiste coup de coeur” to open his concert at Salle Pleyel. She also joined Julien Doré's “VOUS&Moi” tour, opening for him at Olympia.

Rob Ginero is a piano and handpan player based in Berlin. After taking a break from his engineering career, he started busking in different cities in Germany in 2021 and is bringing together the Berlin handpan community with monthly handpan meetups since the summer of 2022. As part of the organizational committee he is bringing Pangonia to life since the first edition in July 2023. He is also giving concerts, handpan lessons and workshops in Berlin.
Timo Grobshäußer is an artist with his own unique playing style, which flowing from deep within. His playing combines speed with strong emotion and taking the audience on an special journey and touches the heart. Experience the magic as skillful fingers breath life into the Handpan.
